Tony Notarberardino is a photographer, filmmaker renowned for his striking fashion imagery and portraiture.  His early influences came from his parent’s obsession with the Italian neorealist cinema of Rossellini, DeSica, Pasolini, Fellini and Antonioni.

Notarberardino’s cinematic style caught the attention of Vogue editors, which resulted in his first editorial commission, at the age of 26. Since then his work has been featured in Vogue, Vanity Fair, Harpers Bazaar, Marie Claire, Elle and GQ. He has created advertising campaigns for major fashion brands worldwide including, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, La Perla, Neiman Marcus, The Limited and most recently shooting the Icon collection for Brooks Brothers.

He has also been highly sought after and has created iconic portraits of Cate Blanchett, Grace Jones, Naomi Watts, Willem Dafoe, Heath Ledger, Dee Dee Ramone, Debbie Harry, Rose Byrne, Russell Crowe and many others.

He has also expanded his vision from photography to film making, shooting music videos, documentaries and short movies. Notarberardino feels no client should leave his set without both video and stills. His extensive technical training allows him to work in both the moving and still image realms at the same time in an efficient manner.

Notarberardino first book "CHELSEA HOTEL PORTRAITS" due to be published in 2017, is a photographic series of portraits shot over a 17 year period from 1997 to 2014. All shot on large format 8x10 Black and White film, it documents the extraordinary cross section of individuals that lived, worked or came to the legendary Chelsea Hotel for one reason or another. A mix of famous and not so famous, the counter culture icons of our time. Some of the greatest writers, artists and musicians of our generation lived and worked at this Victorian Gothic 18th century building in New York City. The hotel was sold in 2013 and is now in dramatic transition under its new ownership, therefore "CHELSEA HOTEL PORTRAITS" will stand as a definitive final documentation in this landmark’s extraordinary history.

Notarberardino currently lives in the Chelsea Hotel in New York City.
